Dining Room Decor, part deux!

The other thing I'm keeping in my dining room (because it's easy and accessible) is my display of little putz houses.

These are houses (and a church) made of cardboard and painted in fun colors. Some of mine are vintage, while others are new.

(Why yes, that is a queen plate. The reason we sold our last house was because we had this queen plate, which apparently some realtors feel is a very good sign.)

Every year I tell myself that I will attempt to make my own putz houses, and they will be to scale, which the ones I've collected are not. I try to arrange them so that the smaller ones are in the back so that they look far away, but...

Anywho, I have a few in the corner cupboard (which I will tell the story of, someday) and on the very cool old tea table (which also has a story, both of which involve DL and his quest to take over the furniture world, sort of) and they look really nice there.

I like to throw in as many bottle brush trees as I can, because they are so 1955. I'll bet Agatha Christie had bottle brush trees at Greenway.

I love your little putz houses and white bottle brush trees! For a few years, I keep telling myself this will be the year I finally make some putz houses - here we are again and I haven't made any. They are so adorable.

Now I know my dining room is a flop, not one bottle brush tree anywhere in my house. I think I saw some in a bin too, why didn't I take them out? I don't have any of those kind of houses and I love yours. I've got some of those ceramic ones. Those are not out either!
