Walkabout Wednesday: Spade and Broom

One of my favorite places to go for inspiration is Spade & Broom. They always have things that tickle my fancy!

A few weeks ago, they had their fall open house. It was a glorious day, and the crowds came out in force.

(Seriously, they did. It was crazy. I went about two hours after they opened, thinking the initial crowds would be gone. I was wrong.)

Not only are there awesome items for sale, but during the open house, they actually open up their house! The above photos are from their dining room, which has a very cool vibe. Nothing farmhousey about this old house--instead, there are romantic French-inspired bedrooms and a botanist's study from the Edwardian-era that just happens to have a dining table in it.

As a bonus, there is a pond. With ducks.

What I really love about it is that you don't really know what's for sale and what's not. It's like a scavenger hunt for middle-aged women!

The sales are once a month or so...sometimes on Friday and Saturday, sometimes just on Saturday...you never really know unless you follow them on Facebook. (So what are you waiting for? Follow them on Facebook! It's worth it for the inspiration.)

What a fun place to go to Kirby. I hate crowds too. Glad you went and had fun looking at all the cool stuff in the house. Those ducks are my faves. So sweet and cute in their pond.
Hugs,
Kris

Love that old library drawer thingy. It's fabulous! It's so fun to have a place that you know always has interesting stuff. Just looking is such great inspiration.

We have a barn sale like that...I was so sad when they flooded. They are opening back up soon. Yay! There are no ducks, though. Sadly.
