Walkabout Wednesday at Corn Hill Arts!

Serendipity! I was back in Rochester for a few days while the Corn Hill Arts Festival was going on!

(I lived in Rochester right after I graduated from college--when I was young and cute--and I used to love driving through Corn Hill and wishing I could live there some day. Alas, It was not meant to be.)

The homes and gardens are absolutely beautiful. Many of them are of Italianate design, with Federal-style homes thrown in for good measure. There is also a fair share of Queen Anne, as well.

I went to the festival specifically to meet my brother, his wife, and my nephew Zach, who was showing his photography in the 'emerging artists' section. Zach has an eye for light and shadow, and you can find some of his photos on his website, which is here.

I think I need to build some bird houses for the spring!

These flowers were stunning!

I haven't decided if "BIRD BATHES" is a spelling mistake, or if the water feature is so elegant the birds are bathing, rather than taking a plain old bath.

If you live anywhere in central NYS, you should check this out next won't be disappointed!

It IS a great festival and I go every other year or so. Didn't make it this year but it is fun to drive through the neighborhood and look at all the gorgeous houses. There is a house tour there just before the holidays too!

That looks like a place I could hang out in all day. Beautiful flowers! Those old homes would have me mesmerized.
Have a good week, Kirbs!

I live Rochester and would consider living there but for the miserable humidity that lives there. I used to have cause to visit there several times a year and I always liked what I saw. That first picture, of the flowers - stunning!
