Menopause: Words to remember

Most of y'all know that I switched jobs in August (which is why I've been behind in posting--trying to close out one school in July and open a new one in August) and one of the reasons I switched is because I was working an average of 55 hours/week. Now my hours are a lot more reasonable, and I have nothing (grading, lesson plans, etc.) to take home to do in the evenings or on weekends.

One of the reasons for such a big change (with a 60% pay cut) is because I have lost 4 good friends in the past 12 months: two from cancer, one from an infection, and one in a fall down her stairs.

Life is short, peeps. Choose stuff that makes you and yours joyful.

I will begin posting some of my adventures soon...now that I have time on my hands!

So how it's all going? How has the adjustment been? I'm glad you made this choice for yourself.
Also, I selfishly miss your tales of wonder.

AMEN! I have not worked since the end of May due to a bad injuring fall, and when I go back to my PT job (if they take me back) I will be working half of the 20 hours I was working a week.

I'm so sorry about your losses Kirby! Four friends in one year is tough. I'm hoping you're liking your new job - despite the giant pay cut.

Great outlook on life Kirby. Life sucks sometimes and really can throw us but if we can see past the ugly to the good of each day that is the best. Glad you found a job that gives you more joy in your life. Sorry about the loss of so many friends so close together. Big hugs to you. Soooo sorry for all this loss.

Also I wanted to tell you about something my sister and I were talking about during my last visit. She had been talking with a school employee that does summer camps to build her income. We were brainstorming camp ideas for teachers - she was most interested in doing a Little House on the Prairie type camp. Probably just a week or two long day camp and maybe able to do from her own home. Anyway this strikes me as so.ething that you might be quite excellent at ...
