With the waning of our Downton days, I thought I would take a quick survey to see what all seventeen of you were interested in reading now that my Sundays were void of meaning.
And you had a variety of answers. (And the one who wrote you were interested in reading sexy stuff? I know that was you, Miss D.)
Of the folks who responded, all but one were female (thanks, JimZ) and most were over 50 (sistahs!) and a couple in 40-49 and one under 40 and I think I know who that was by her comment. (My honorary niece.)
So here are my responses to your responses to what you want to see here at Brandywine:
D-I-Y and other related projects: Yep, I have them. Every week? Notsomuch. It's not because we don't want to do them; it's because we are so busy with our paying jobs that there are some weeks I'm only able to get the dishes done, and y'all don't need a tutorial for that! While I'd love to post a DIY project a week, it won't happen. So I have to do other stuff, too.
Home Decor: See above. At this point in time, decor means vacuuming. Although I may post pictures of my booth spaces where I sell a lot of home decor. That might work.
**What I would LOVE is for someone to hold my feet to the fire and ask me to be a part of a blog hop which would then FORCE me to do some of the above. But (just like high school) I rarely get invited to that sort of thing. I sit at the nerd girl table, where I will not be forced to speak and I can read my novel in peace.**
Auntie Em: I got a lot of good response from the inaugural post of Auntie Em. She will undoubtedly be back. As soon as she gets back from Aruba, where she has been hanging out with Hugh Jackman.
Wide Shots of My House: See above...plus, I think wide shots require a special lens and my camera came with just the two--the regular one and the one that brings South Carolina inrealclose. (That one gives me a headache.)
Crafts: I will be completely honest here and say that I actually do a lot more crafting than it seems. The problem is that I forget to take pictures! So rather than just show you the finished product, I don't post craft projects. I probably should. When I remember.
Thankfully, four of you said that you like humor, of which I have more than my fair share, thanks to my awesome dad. (He's also the reason I started this blog.) So I can definitely promise you four more of that.
I thought I might have something to take away from what y'all like to read on other blogs, but I was less-successful with that.
A lot of y'all like recipes. I understand that, but my idea of cooking is to pick up a rotisserie chicken on the way home from school and open a bagged salad. When the kids were young and I stayed at home--and even when I worked middle school hours--I was able to fix a meal to put on the table. That is no longer the case, however, as I am generally still at school long after it ends and then I have the commute. So recipes are relegated to summertime, where we mostly grill or have something light. Maybe I'll work on recipes over the summer and then save them up for you.
Or maybe I won't remember.
And pretty pictures of the beach?
I haven't been to a beach in ten years, so...
Thanks to the seventeen who took the time to fill out the survey. You will get some of the things you asked for (but probably not many recipes. Sorry.), so stay tuned. Same bat time; same bat channel.
