Gingerbread, man!

(Do you see that bead up there? The one that is turquoise and gold and so beautiful that it almost hurts your eyes? That is my favorite bead EVER!!)

Just in case you hadn't heard...the old gray mare? She ain't what she used to be.

Working twelve-hour days has left her too tired for much else, and she had a big project she needed to finish (more about that later). So blogging had to take a back seat.

But, as the say about poltergeists...she's baaa-aaack.

And I am back to show you what is undoubtedly the most beautiful cake tester EVER.

I won this cake tester over at Bliss's blog. Of course folks probably thought it was rigged because Bliss is an old (time-wise, not age-wise) blogging friend. The cake tester is from one 30 one designs (owned by Bliss's gal), and the beads are exquisite. I couldn't wait to try it out, but I had to because of life stuff (which tends to get in the way on occassion).

So I made some gingerbread for the base of a pear compote. I used the cake tester to make sure it was done. It worked like a charm!!

I sauteed some pears in a little limoncello and butter...

...and poured the pears over the gingerbread. A little heavy cream and voila!

Thanks to Bliss and Beth for the lovely cake tester! Please visit the etsy page where you can find your own beautiful cake tester.  They make great gifts!!

Linking here and here to party with my friends!!

I am obviously uneducated on the finer things in life because I have never heard of or seen a cake tester. Beautiful!

That is one beautiful cake tester for sure. My daughter and I were at a Christmas craft fair last weekend and she bought a cake tester for a gift. Yours puts the one she bought to shame! Yes please, I'll have a slice of that delicious looking gingerbread cake with pear compote - salivating over here! Would love the recipe *wink* *wink*

That is one fancy schmancy and gorgeous cake tester! I don't even want to tell you what I use to test cakes and all other baked goods! Going to check the Etsy shop. Nice win!!

That is an amazing cake tester-
much better than me scrambling around the kitchen looking for a toothpick!
Now you need to bake all weekend.

Thank you so much for joining Thoughts of Home on Thursday.

I am really behind the times! I wasn't aware cake testers existed! Where have I been? This one is truly exquisite. I think I need one.

That cake tester is much prettier than the toothpicks I use. I have to be honest though, At first I thought it was a device to taste test the cake LOL

When I snooped around your blog, I found the ash Wednesday post. That was a great story!

Found you via Thoughts of Home :)
