Walkabout Wednesday...ghosts in the graveyard

Still working twelve-hour days (which will have to stop soon, as I will not last 'til the New Year) and trying to be good at everything, which means I end up doing most things half-a$$ed.

So I remembered that it's October and I have pictures of a graveyard and that seemed somehow appropriate.

This old graveyard is along the lake road in northern Wayne County, NY. It's gorgeous and I just love the old graves!

These two kids (above) would be my age, had they lived. So sad.

If I was dead, I would love a view like this. (I know that when you're dead you don't really care about the view, but let's pretend.)

Where do you like to walk?

Ok Kirby when I am dead I would want a view like that lol! How pretty. Walking through an old cemetery like that is so interesting to see all the unique headstones.

I love old cemeteries. I think they're beautiful and sad but so interesting. I keep meaning to do a post on a few that I photographed but every year I forget! I'm old and forgetful- or maybe the doll sucked out my brain in the middle of the night. Ya think?

Very cool pictures! I like old graveyards. I could ramble through one for a few hours...especially with that view.

Not sure where this is but I wouldn't walk it....I find graveyards very intriguing but creepy to walk through! Have you ever been to the one in Naples, NY? It is quite the graveyard with wrought iron gates with grapes on them :-)

I love to walk through old cemeteries, even when I was a young girl, 50 years ago, taking photos of the moss covered head stones and angels, and wondering what kind of lives the people of long ago lived. The old headstones and angels are wonderful, and I keep a Pinterest page, of all of those I have found on line and of some of the photos that I have taken. I find a cemetery peaceful, even beautiful, and not creepy at all.

Our historic cemeteries are sometimes damaged and have even had grave stones stolen! No respect. I have wondered about the lives of those interred there. One gentleman does historic tours and haunted tours and has costumed people act as those in the grave yard. He researches them to give historical information! It is cool tour!

I tried to think back (hard now at my age) to whether I had actually ever seen an old graveyard and I don't recall one. We have the cemetery where my mother-in-law is buried, but it isn't much fun to visit!

What a lovely cemetery. I do love the view! I'm always fascinated with private family cemeteries.

Good one Kirby. I love pics from old graveyards. Love the view but I am leaning towards cremation so I can stay on my property and scare the bejeebers out of the next family who decides to move in...lol JK
