Jord Watches -they're wood!

*This is a sponsored post for which I have been compensated. As always, all opinions are mine. But you should be used to that by now.*

Awhile back, a nice young man named Dan contacted me. He is with Jord watches. Jord makes gorgeous watches with wood. My first thought was "WOOD!  THIS WOULD BE AWESOME FOR DL!!" And then I remembered that DL doesn't wear a watch because he is in and out of the plant, where jewelry isn't allowed for safety reasons.

In fact, he can't even wear his wedding ring, unless he's in meetings all day.

So I put my little brain to work and came up with an alternate plan.

Child one would love a watch, and he has his father's affinity for working with wood.

As usual, I was obsessed with the packaging. (For those of you who are new here, my husband is in the packaging business.) The box that the watch is packed in is absolutely lovely.

The watch that my son (not his real name) chose was the Sully in dark sandalwood and maple.   It came wrapped around a little tweed herringbone cushion.  This little pillow? Would be the perfect place to keep your secret paperwork if you are in the CIA or whatever. No one would look inside a watch pillow.  Anyway, again with the lovely packaging.

I was honestly worried about the size of this watch. The little band that is printed off and wrapped around the wrist seemed to me to be a less-than-accurate way to order a size. I was pleasantly surprised when the watch was pretty true-to-size...it's a little loose, but not problematically so. Just push it a little further up your arm!

Here's his favorite part of the watch: the gorgeous wood. The contrast of the dark sandalwood and maple is just beautiful. The grain shows, even in these little pieces.  The workmanship is lovely.  There's a clasp in the back (I will admit to not being able to get it open the first few times, but that was more a hand/eye coordination issue than anything else. The old gray mare...well, she ain't what she used to be.)

Cruising through the website I spied a watch from the Dover series in ebony and copper that would be perfect for DL when he can once again wear a watch. If he ever retires. After all, he can get a gorgeous watch and shipping is now free!! (If you have a guy who needs a watch...well, Christmas is coming!) They also have beautiful watches for ladies.  I love the zebrawood and maple.

Then I'll retire and work for the CIA and store all my secrets inside this perfect little pillow.

I have seen some pictures of the gorgeous watches.

Like DL, my job doesn't allow me to wear a watch. Actually, that's just choice. I haven't worn a watch for about 20 years, but I know I have a few somewhere. Steve wears a watch, but it has to be waterproof. He never knows when he might have to jump in the ocean like he did yesterday when Lulu's ball drifted too far out in the ocean and she was struggling to swim out to it.

Have I ever told you how much fun it is to read your posts!

I have seen their watches before on another blog. They are so lovely but too expensive for me. I am an old lady on an extremely limited income. Many people would love them!

Saw these on another blog and couldn't get to the website....your link works! They are pretty but look too "clunky" to me to wear.
