Welcome to my Fall 2015 tour!
We don't change too much from summer to September, but I do like to add some fall color and texture. This segues into fall and then I kick it up in a little month I like to call Rocktober.
One of the things I like to do in the fall is add candles. I put some on the mantel in the living room, along with magnolia leaves and pods.
We always have a plethora of abandoned nests here in Brandywine's walled garden.
I added some gold flowers to my small dining table in the corner of the living room. (Yes...candles too.)
The chalkboard in the foyer got a quote from John Donne's Elegy IX, for us "ladies of a certain age." (I'm still working on my 'chalkboard writing.' I hope it improves.)
In the dining room, the last of the flowers from my garden make an appearance in an ironstone jug.
Lanterns (with candles, of course) on top of the dining room cabinet.
(There's a raven on the other side. It's early for Poe, but I'm giving him a head start.)
There are more flowers on the kitchen table, and
lots of apples for cooking and eating!!
