Walkabout Wednesday: If Loving Spanish Moss is Wrong, I Don't Wanna be Right.

Oh, lawd.
Those of you who know me REALLY well, know that I grew up in the snowy confines of the Great Lakes region.

Under approximately ten thousand feet of snow.  In April.

I was one of those little kids who had to buy a Halloween costume (from Streeters!  In a Collegeville box with the window on top so you could see the mask!) that would fit over the snowsuit. So when we moved south, I was on the lookout for the elusive and romantic Spanish Moss, which hates snow almost as much as I do. (Unless I get a snow day, which I love because then I get to be lazy and binge watch Midsomer Murders.  But I digress.)

One of the places I've found it is Thomasville, Georgia.

Thomasville is one of the cutest towns I've ever seen.  (I know there are cute towns everywhere, but I haven't visited them all.  Yet.)

It has lots of cute shops and nice restaurants.

I had MUCHO fun walking around Thomasville, while DL was back in NC, doing this:

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you'll have seen some action shots of this craziness. The backstory will be coming soon.

T'ville does have some great shopping!
A friend of my parents grew up there. After her husband retired, they returned and bought the house she grew up in...I always thought that was so cool.

I remember Spanish moss from my childhood in Florida - and some little red bugs that inhabited it. I still liked it!

Ya know....I had never seen Spanish moss until we went to Louisiana over Thanksgiving. It was on my bucket list to see it swaying in the breeze. I brought a bunch of it home...just like a dumb tourist! LOL!

Looks like you traded in a pile of snow for a pile of wood!

The south is full of cute small towns. Someday I will visit them all. I did love all the Spanish moss in Savannah. There is something very romantic in the way it sways and hangs from those huge trees. Very ethereal.

I have only ever seen it in movies....so beautiful. A gorgeous little town Kirby! Cheers from our little snow blanketed farm....although no TV today as I have a date with a shovel and a plow!

I love me some Spanish moss too...so very Southern. Some people think that it is detrimental to the host tree but usually it is not...it only uses the tree for support. Some of the dreamiest pictures of my daughter's wedding were due to the Spanish moss hanging from the trees in the background at the wedding venue. I need to take a trip to Thomasville...thanks for sharing those photos!
