Project for Guest Room Makeover

One of the dilemmas I have with this guest room is a little tiny cubby that demands a closet or something else I can’t afford.
So, instead…I decided to put in a small table and a mirror for a “vignette.”  (Honestly?  I cannot even believe I am using that word.)  At least until I can afford something else.

Mirror?  I had a $10 limit.

This is what I found!  It’s a cute little round mirror—metal—painted white.
I loved it, but white wasn’t going to work.
Oh, wait…don’t I have a closet full of paint?

I taped off the mirror, just in case, and painted the leaves bright green and the roses a mauvey-pink.

I mixed two shades of Couture Collection ™ wax—White Silk and Gunmetal Tulle—and gave the leaves and roses a light coat.

It looks great…and the reveal is coming soon!

Wow - that's the tiniest cubby I've ever seen - but that's exactly what I love about old houses - all those surprising little features !
The mirror looks so pretty - can't wait to see the cubby complete !

Now that school is back is session, when do you have time to be creative and make such cute things.

BTW, I have read a few blogs where moms were talking about their girls starting middle school so I have been sharing the link to your "Mean Girls" post.

I'm a mirror hoader! I don't like looking in them but at them. Love how they add light in dark spaces. Great idea to add a mirror in the cubbie. Great makeover on it too! Small spaces are challenging but so cute!

I love the light fixture in your cubby. With the mirror and table, it looks like a boutique! Beautiful!!

This looks great with the light. That is a weird cubby! Does the room have a closet? Is it even logical that that space is there? I'm thinking this room is going to look great!

Love how the mirror turned out, and that cubby is so sweet.

Good thinking on how to deal with an odd, little space. Painting the mirror up looks like fun!
