What I found appealing…

For the past few years, I have been collecting some vintage artwork.  This isn’t an expensive collection, because I don’t generally spend more than $15 on any one piece. In fact, some have been just a buck!

I don’t really care what kind of frames they have, as I am going for a specific look – Miss Marple’s house in St. Mary Mead.  Collected over decades, when it’s actually only been 8 years.

As you can see, I tend to favor landscapes.

(DL and I have a deal that we will never pass up a painting with a windmill on it.  We love Holland.)

This little horse is an anomaly,  but it reminded me of the illustrations Wesley Dennis produced for Marguerite Henry’s books.  What do you think?

What vintage items do you find appealing?

I LOVED Marguerite Henry books when I was growing up! That horse portrait is PERFECT!

I have no idea who Marguerite Henry is...but I love the one that looks like the cabin in the Alps from Heidi!

I have quite a few pieces of vintage art- I love them, too. I have a very similar horse that was done by Magoo's uncle. It's one of my favorites. I'll be on the lookout for windmills for you.
I'm with Danni, I favor Heidi's cabin. :)
Cool collection, Kirbs.

I think they all remind me of the pictures my mom liked, only many of hers were paint by number she did herself. I like your collection much better, and I like them when there is more than one, then they look like an intentional collection, unlike my moms.

Love your collection. I could quite happily live in any of those landscapes. Just beautiful.

Oh these are awesome! Yes, I was channelling Misty of Chincoteague (sp?) with that horse painting! Think I have a copy around here somewhere...

I love the landscapes - they make me think of English cottages - John's Aunt has a gallery wall with these type of prints - ( in Yorkshire, England ! )
Great collection !
