Radio/Turntable new and fun!

This isn't EXACT...
but it's close enough.

And when DL bought it...well, I thought 'Oh, lawd.'  Because that's usually what I think when DL drags stuff home.

But then he ripped the guts out and I could see the potential.

This puppy had originally come from Sears, and I left the sticker inside (it's blurry because I am old).

We replaced the back because it had tubes and stuff for the radio,  and I painted it bright yellow.  Then we replaced the speaker fabric with screen spray painted gold.  I also spray painted the hardware.  The case was painted with CeCe Vermont Slate, and the top, which DL had sanded and reconditioned, was stained.

A coat of wax and three tortoise knobs later, some casters on the bottom, and you have a cute little rolley bar for a small space!

What did you do with the guts? I see those old tubes for sale in antique stores.

How fun! I love the colors. I have to admit, I wouldn't have seen the potential right off the bat, but you did a great job bringing it to life!

You sure had some vision with this piece Kirby and it turned out great! I'm curious...what made you decide to change the upper left door from pull down to open left? Love the gold painted screen which shows the yellow background. Fun project!
