One more piece of evidence...

...that we have finally lost our minds: we bought another condo.

We own a townhouse in a nearby condominium complex, which I wrote about here.

My husband and I looked at several of these one-story units, beginning shortly after we bought the first, about three years ago.  We've seen the good, the bad, and the downright ugly.  The last one I saw was absolutely lovely--very Pottery Barn-esque.

We will undoubtedly rent this right away, as condos in this area don't stay empty for long.  But when I have a chance, I am going to fix this up and document it, every step of the way.

It's kinda like this, but with new windows.

In a perfect world, this condo would be here:

Kiawah Island, SC

Or here:

Montreal

Truly, the condos we own are not glamorous.  But they are kinda fun.  And they're close by, so it's convenient to collect the rent or make repairs.

I can't wait to see what my husband comes home with next.

  3. I didn't realize you were in Canada. My husband and I decided years ago that we just don't have the capability of being landowners. He isn't handy and he could not handle any worry about renters or problems. So I guess we will never get rich in real estate. Good luck!

  4. This is so interesting to me, Kirby! I need to move my elderly parents to my town soon...we tried to stage their house to make it not look so "old-person-ish" and have put it on the market. If it doesn't sell, we have thought about renting it instead. Have you had pretty good luck with getting the rent, etc.?

  7. Oh,you may be a little nuts! Mr. Wonderful and I became reluctant landlords when we couldn't sell our home in Georgia. I really don't like being a landlord. When the tenants are good, they're very, very good. When they're bad they're awful!!! Good luck with yours!

  9. Gosh, where will you ever find funky little fabulous pieces of furniture to fill any vacant spots in said condos?

  10. Because my husband sells real estate, he has come home with more than one of these surprises for me. They usually end up with me on my knees installing tile or something. Hate being a landlord....love the income. Have fun!
