That means my resolution to exercise sporadically is a winner!
Now, I realize that you folks don't really know me. In person. From birth. So I will let you in on a little secret: I used to be a dancer. Like, a real one. Not just a girl who take tap classes on Thursday nights. Or has a pole. But one who uses a barre and goes to class at 3:30 every afternoon, breaks for dinner at 5:30 and goes back at 7:00 for another hour-and-a-half. And then takes master classes with the Joffrey and works with Garth Fagan. REAL dancing, not the kind of dancing I do for Kerry.
But, you know, stuff happens Like babies. And food. And life.
I have no delusions. I will NEVER run a half-marathon. I will NEVER weigh what I weighed in college. I will continue to eat food that I like. But I should exercise more. And more than never is sporadically.
So far, I have been to our local gym three times! I did sit-ups twice! I walked around the block! At this rate, I will be in great shape by March! (Of 2027.)
So, all you bloggers out there--those who are getting organized and redecorating and making entire rooms out of popsicle sticks and Mod Podge--you go! I'll just be here, exercising.
When I feel like it.

And we will be adding more and more!

I think you can now call your blog "educational" since you've posted a link to a statistics page!!! OMG!! I can make a whole room out of Popsicle sticks???!!!! Can you have your students start saving them for me??!!! Seriously, I did not know you were a dancer (other than that video...which was how I first met you!!) That's pretty cool and some serious dedication! Sit-ups...twice? I'm inspired to start thinking about it!
ReplyDeleteSit UP?
ReplyDeleteWhat's a sit UP?
Done in my best Maggie Smith voice LOL

good for you! i think. by march of 2027 you will be svelte! i joined a gym last week.... but for me it had been a lifestyle. i mean, i taught freaking classes at the gym! then we moved and i was getting mushier... time to get my old life back! without the teaching though and do it just for me and not because i am getting paid $30 a class. :) that was some good motivation! pay me to workout... done.
ReplyDeleteYou're making me tired with all your talk of exercise.
ReplyDeleteI think all you need to do is keep dancing.
You could be like Ellen DeGeneres of blog land.
Sounds like a winner to me! I've never been to a gym, but I do think about it sometimes and that's quite enough for me. Just popped over from Suzan's blog, and I'm now a follower.
ReplyDeleteTalking about Mod Podge, I'll give you a little tip... it's not only good for collage's and pasting crafty stuff together. It will take 20 years off those wrinkles on your face and hands... how I came to know that is another story!!! Lovin' Tongue in cheek Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Pendra
I'm hear via Suzan at Simply Vintageous to check out your Tongue in Cheek post and I hope this lasts for more than this one time! I joined a gym last February and haven't been since last May...sounds like you'll be doing better than me. I said I would get back at it this year, but almost a month has gone by and I still haven't done it. Shoot...I need a kick in the rear. Following you now!
ReplyDeleteDebbie :)
That's Deranged with a capital D, Oh Great Mustard!
ReplyDeleteI am so up for exercising sporadically - I should have made that mine as well :) I love paying the gym fee and the guilty texts I get saying we miss you LOL
ReplyDeleteNow THAT's a resolution I can get behind... sorta like having a glass of wine every night. :)
ReplyDeleteYou go, Kirbs!! I'm expecting a dance recital at Haven this summer!
xo Heidi
Yes. A resolution I can get behind! I actually purchased an exercise mat this week. Granted, it's still all wrapped up in its orginal packaging ... maybe next week ...
ReplyDelete:) Linda
Me too, Kirby! I joined a gym and have been four times...in six months. I even have motivation...seeing ex-husband with his skinny new wife at our son's wedding in June. I did cut back on the wine...it's a start.
ReplyDeleteIf *I* can complete a half marathon - ANYONE can complete a half marathon! (you'll notice I didn't say "run" since I walked a good third of that sucker.)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you! While you're huffing and puffing on those two sit ups, think of me in my dark, dreary basement on my treadmill. If someone would dangle a cupcake in front of me on the treadmill - I'd be ready for a swimsuit competition!

I just found your site through What We Keep who I just found when she commented on one of my pins. It's funny how I luck up on the best sites. I love the Tongue-In-Cheek Series! I have a membership to an athletic club and went faithfully for 2 years and lost 30 lbs. I haven't been in six months and gained the 30 back + 5. How does that work anyway :-)
ReplyDeleteI think I need to eat sporadically vs. constantly. I'm a good exerciser. An even better eater. And drinker.
