2012: Forward.

Last year, bloggers were all about "a word for 2012."

And the word I chose was

Forward.
(Which the President promptly stole.)
I chose forward because I wanted to do some epic $hit.  Which of course I didn't do, because I was busy moving forward.
But forward was good, because I had a little bit of a health scare a couple of months ago.  One where they want to tell you that you might want to bring someone to your appointment with you to talk to the doctor.  One where when the symptoms appear, it's already too late.
Luckily, it was a false alarm, and I can still go forward.

So, if there's a trend toward doing this word thing again, I'm sticking with forward.  Forward is good, whether you're a middle-aged woman or a president.

  3. I randomly came across your blog this morning as I am nursing a New Year's morning headache - and I only had 1 margarita last night.

I read your QMF and see that we have much in common - 2 adult kids still tapping the well, 2 grand kitties (one is still scared to death of me after 4 months and the other gets mad if I sit on his chair) and I will soon be leaving teaching (155 days - 100 of them work days, but who's counting). I am quitting while I still love my job, but I am ready to play with my husband who works out of his home studio.

My word is CHANGE, but I can't post it on my blog because then people at school might discover I am retiring and I want to keep it quiet and slip out the door with no hoopla.

I will be back to read about your FORWARD path.

    Happy New Year

  7. Forward huh? Kinda catchy :)
I'm not sure if I can pick just one word so I'm going with a phrase "Just get off your keester and do something".
I'm happy to hear that you are ok.

  8. Hi Kirby! Glad your health scare was a false alarm! Love the paint finish on the dresser...can we "spring" "forward"? When I cleaned up the fake snow yesterday out of the front flower beds, I saw some green sprouts poking out of the pinestraw. Spring came really early last year here in Alabama...we may be in for a repeat. Glad the Mayans gave us a pass like you hoped for in last year's new year blog.
