If I'm in Mecca, then where the heck's my prayer rug?
The one good thing about being an empty-nester is the ability to just kind of take off at a moment's notice. DL and I like to call this activity "Sploring."
Two weeks ago, I asked DL if we could splore the point where Virginia/West Virgina/Maryland all come together.
Luckily, he was game.
And of course I needed to stop at Lucketts Store. You know? The home of Miss Mustard Seed. (I am not worthy.)
And I also spent some time with Cassie at P & P, who is always wonderful!
Not to mention the wonderful town of Frederick, Maryland, where we showed up just in time for the annual Kris Kringle parade. (Yes, I pretended the parade was for me. I am such a drama queen that way.) And I made DL keep taking my picture--over and over again.
I just wanted to prove people that I was really there.
Thanks, DL, for not being embarassed to be seen with me.

ReplyDeleteOK, so next time, I'm going to drop my kids off to you, and then I can go "sploring" too! Or maybe I can just tag along to the Miss Mustard Seed shrine? I can't believe you saw it in real life, so jealous!

I heard that parade was for you! Lucky you to have a hubs who doesn't mind sploring (or vintaging as my reluctant hubs calls it)!

If I ever cross the pond, that's gonna be top of my list, a visit to Lucketts Store - I've seen it so many times now, I feel like I've done a little 'sploring' there myself.
ReplyDeleteHow could DL ever be embarrassed to be seen with you? Though, looking at the pics, looks like you were there solo ... and how fun you got to hang with Cassie!

My hubby and I like to go sploring too! Our kids always correct us - "No mom, it's EX-plore-ing!" Really? Now I can tell them that an English teacher says sploring is correct. What a fun day - just look at all those URNS!
