Day Two of Mystery and Mayhem

*Today's lesson is about Royal Doulton figurines.  They have been issued from the beginning of time  1918, and mostly sold to little old British ladies like Miss Marple.  The old balloon seller (male) was first issued in 1940 and is still in production today, while his compatriot, the old lady, was issued from 1929-1998.*
(When we last left Kirby, there was a funky noise in the house, and it wasn't coming from her husband.)

I decided that it was in my best interest to investigate the noise coming from somewhere in the house, as I was going to have to wake DL if it was an emergency like a washing machine explosion or spontaneous combustion of the pool table (which would not necessarily be a bad thing, but there you have it). Not smelling smoke or seeing water where it shouldn't be, I gave the house a once-over, wanting to blame the errant noise on the neighbor's annoying schnauzer.

That's when I saw it.

Where I should have seen this:

I saw this:

and glancing down...noticed this:

The Old Balloon Seller.
Old No More.

And his sisterwife, the female version of The Old Balloon Seller, missing.

Something rotten in the state of Denmark Brandywine.

Someone was targeting the tchotchkes.

What is the balloon seller now, if "old no more"? Busted, it appears...
And who done it? I have a suspect (based on previous posts) and am placing my bet.

I'd blame this mayhem on garden gnomes. They can be a down right mean bunch fer sure.
