Halloween Slate (and yes, I use Mod Podge!)

My wonderful friend at The Cottage Market,  Andrea, has some awesome printables in her etsy shop.  She was kind enough to offer me one, and I had absolutely no idea what to do with it.  She gave me a few ideas, and this is one!

These are the supplies you'll need:
Mod Podge
Scissors
Slate tile
the printable
ribbon or string

I started with a slate roofing tile.  You can buy tiles that have leather cords attached, if you don't have a slate roof handy.

This particular tile had some grossness going on, like tar or something, which wouldn't come off.   I made sure that the grossness would be on the back.

Using a paintbrush, I smeared Mod Podge on the slate.  I placed the printable on the slate, then Mod Podged over it.  I *heart* Mod Podge.  I would marry it, but I'm already married.

I let it dry overnight, then tied an orange satin ribbon through the holes.  (The holes were already there from being attached to the roof.  If you don't have a slate with holes, you can drill holes with the carbide bit.  At least I think that's what DL said.)

This is a lousy photo of what the finished slate looks like--it's on my front door and looks great!  Thanks, Andrea!

Check me out at Jaime's Happy Hour!

Awesome job, and I love the title of your site! My weekly linky party--One Creative Weekend--has gone spooky this week in honor of my thirteenth party. If you haven’t already, I hope you’ll visit "One Creative Weekend" on OneCreativeMommy.com (open every Fri-Wed) and link up this idea and anything else you’d like to share. (You can include non-Halloween posts as well, but feel free to link up as many Halloween-themed posts as you like.) There are two categories—one for Halloween and one for everything else.
