Quick Haven Wrap-up

This is Kirby, reporting to you from the 2012 Haven Conference! (Fortunately, they don't pay me so I can report anything I like.)

Quick Wrap-up:  If you didn't make it this year, try to get here next year!  It was lots of fun and there was some great information to be absorbed.  (And some of it really needs to be absorbed.  Some of it is very mathy.  I am not mathy, despite the fact that I asked Iris to rub my arm to see if I could get some of her mathy-ness through osmosis.)  And, yeah...if you link to that?  The woman with the incredibly fleshy upper arms in the foreground is moi.  WTH is up with that?  Let's blame it on the camera angle, shall we?

I came to Haven with a goal in mind:  to meet in real life the folks I've been stalking on the internet.  Folks like Debbie, Kerry, Laura, Kelly with the baby, Cassie, Flat Kelly, Karianne, Heidi, and a zillion others.  It's so much fun...and a little awkward...to try and figure out who is who when you've never really met.

I picked up a lot more than I thought I would, though, and there will be a few changes to this blog over the course of the summer.  Let me know what you think!

Glad to see Flat Kelly was on your list of people to meet! Hopefully you two didn't get into too much trouble (I don't want to get a call from the Atlanta prison)!

Glad you had a great time. I think that you either get the English gene or the math gene. People who have both are mutations. So just be glad you are not a mutation. I've rubbed as many math people as I can without getting arrested and it has never worked.

I didn't get that math gene either. I agree with Karen, one or the other. Having both skills is unfair to us normal folks.

Kirby, honey, I was totally lying about the math. I was just trying to get you to rub up on me because I really needed a hug after that session on advertising. I thought my head was going to explode, and that all you beautiful home bloggers would run me out of there with torches and pitchforks if I got gray matter all over your cute handmade camera straps. So, sorry about the lie, but thanks for the hug. I needed that. Also, have to say, meeting you was one of the absolute highlights of my trip. You, my dear, are HILARIOUS. I am a new follower, FO SHIZZLE!

So true about the awkward part of trying to figure out who you "know" but haven't met yet. And I'm bad with faces. I didn't recognize you until I saw your nametag, then it was like the heavens opened up and birds started singing.
