In life, it's difficult to find folks out there who are genuine and with whom you have things in common.
In blogging, it's even harder.
There are plenty of 'Mommy Bloggers' out there, but I have raised my children.
There are travel blogs, but I haven't traveled much.
There are pet blogs, but Rosie and Winston will sue me if I write about them. (Those cats have a lawyer who is RIDICULOUS!)
I wanted to write a humor blog, but most of the humor writers are male. Apparently, women aren't supposed to be funny. When I link to a humor party, it generally falls flat.
Then I hooked up with the Do-It-Yourselfers, and I felt like Sally Field.
They really like me.
So, in an effort to be one of the gang, I am doing all kinds of bloggy stuff this summer. Here are a few of the fun things I'm trying:
1. A guest post or two (like the one I did for Sarah);
2. Giveaways (one for my 1,000th comment, which the lovely Linda will receive--more about
that next week--and one for my 400th post.)
3. Linky parties and challenges--one that I am in the loop for, the other based on the Olympics.
4. Attending the Haven Conference in Atlanta, where the bloggy folks are getting together.
I also have some blogging goals:
1. 300 followers,
2. 20 projects, and
3. 3 tutorials.
In September, I'll be checking back here to see if my goals have been accomplished.
Meanwhile, I'll keep an eye on the cats.
